| Hair Removal
The
Cutera hair removal systems deliver a specially tailored light energy
source for permanent hair reduction for a wide range of skin types. The
ProWave handpiece treats large areas such as women’s legs and men’s
backs quickly and safely.
FAQ:
- What areas can be treated?
-
Face, Legs, Arms, Underarms, Back, Chest, Nipples, Bikini Line
- How many treatments are required?
-
Most areas can require 6-8 treatments. However, the number of
treatments required for optimal long-term benefits depends on hair
thickness, the area treated and your hair’s growth cycle. Each hair
grows at a different rate and goes through three phases: growth,
regression, and resting. ProWave treatments work by disabling the hair
that is principally in the active growth phase at the time of
treatment. Since other hairs will enter this active growth phase at
different times, additional treatments may be necessary to disable all
of the hair follicles in the treatment area.
- What happens after the treatment?
-
Following the treatment, you can return to your normal activities right
away, but some redness may occur. Three to seven days after treatment,
you may experience what seems to be regrowth of hair. Most of these
hairs are being shed as a result of your treatment and are not
regrowing. Between treatments, you should not wax or pluck your hair,
but it is permissible to shave.
- Some
patients may experience slight reddening and local swelling of the
skin, similar to a sunburn. This typically lasts for several hours or
less. The use of sunscreen is recommended on any treated areas exposed
to the sun.
Electrolysis
For patients who are not candidates for laser therapy and for small
amounts of residual hair following laser therapy, electrolysis is a
permanent hair removal solution.
Spider Vein Therapy
The
Cutera CoolGlide laser wavelength treats a broad range of vessels on
legs and very small veins on the face and chest for most skin tones.
FAQ:
- How many treatments will I need?
-
Often, patients find that two or three treatments are sufficient.
However, the number of treatments depends on the number, color, and
size of the vessels being treated.
- What happens after the treatment?
-
Following the treatment, some redness or bruising may occur. Support
hose will be worn for a short period of time. Any slight reddening or
local swelling of the skin will typically last for less than 24 hours.
- Patients
generally resume most normal activities immediately. However, it is
recommended that you avoid vigorous activities such as strenuous
exercise for 3 days after treatment.
-
Most patients find that the majority of the treated veins have shown
significant improvement within eight to twelve weeks of treatment.
However, your final results may not be apparent for several months.
Skin Rejuvenation
Every
person ages at a different rate and in different ways. Some develop
redness, age or sun spots. Others have large pores, fine lines,
wrinkles or lax skin. We can tailor your therapy to suit your specific
problem or use a three-tiered approach to rejuvenating your skin for
all of these conditions.
- Limelight Facial Photogenesis addresses the problems at the skin’s surface – redness, mottled complexions, freckles and sun damage.
- Laser Genesis
utilizes a laser to soften fine lines and wrinkles, shrink pores and
decrease or eliminate redness found deeper in the epidermis. It as been
proven to stimulate the creation of new collagen, giving your face a
more youthful appearance and is effective in the treatment of acne and
acne scarring.
- Titan uses infrared light to heat tissue in the deep dermis to tone and tighten the skin.
- 3D Skin Rejuvenation utilizes all of these therapies in a three-tiered approach when multiple conditions are present.
FAQ:
- What areas can be treated?
-
The most popular areas are the face and neck, but other body parts such
as hands, arms and abdomen are also frequently treated.
- How many treatments will I need?
-
Each treatment regimen is different and customized to an individual
patient’s needs. Most patients can expect between 3 and 6 treatments.
-
Immediate results are observed by some patients. More typically, you
will see results in two to four weeks and improvements will continue
for several months.
Pearl (Week-End Peel)
The
Pearl procedure combines the impact of resurfacing lasers with the
gentleness and safety of non-invasive procedures to treat aging and
sun-damaged skin. Pearl reduces wrinkles, uneven texture, and solar
damage with fewer treatments and less overall recovery than other
technologies to provide a healthy glow to your skin.
FAQ:
- Who is a candidate for a Pearl treatment?
-
Patients with light to medium skin tones and mild to moderate sun damage are the ideal candidates.
- What is “social” downtime?
-
You can continue your normal daily activities, however you may not want
to attend important social events. As with all resurfacing therapies,
skin will appear pink/red which is normal and will generally last 3-5
days when peeling will occur. Results are noticeable by day 4 or 5 when
the superficial tissue has peeled, revealing fresh, bright, healthy
skin underneath. Makeup may be applied at this time.
- How many treatments are recommended?
-
Some patients may desire two treatments spaced approximately one month
apart to achieve the desired results. Others may need only one
treatment.
